Jay's actual happy place will likely be Invesco Field this weekend. Not to be overly optimistic, but given their current problems, the Chiefs are definitely in the running for the worst team in the NFL. Yes, their record says otherwise (sort of) but we'd take any team over KC right now, especially on the road and even more especially in a game-changing venue like Mile High. Yes, even Miami.
So the Broncos get a breather against a bad team. Granted, Chicago and Oakland were pretty bad too, and those games didn't turn out so well...but the week 14 edition of KC is in a different class of bad. Hopefully this will not only be a victory but a confidence builder.
They'll need every edge possible to survive the upcoming road games in Houston and San Diego.

One thing is certain: they can't finish any better than last year's 9-7 record, and in 2006, 9-7 wasn't good enough to make the playoffs. Jacksonville looks to have Wild Card #1 wrapped up. That means it's mostly down to Cleveland, Tennessee, and Buffalo for the last spot, with Houston and yes, Denver still possibilities sitting in serious holes.
Playoffs? Playoffs??? With this schedule, Denver was supposed to challenge for the AFC West this year. Now we're just trying to finish .500!

Right now, we're about as good as Oakland. Take a long look at both rosters and tell us what's really so different about them. Is that where we want to be?
Wow. Did we really just say that?

not funny...
and we can still win the divsion. its very unlikly but by god theres still a chance GO TITIANS GO LIONS (those are the next two teams SD is playing) YOU NEVER KNOW GO BRONCOS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Jake Plummer sucks!!!!!!
This is by far the worst website ever. Not only is it a "tribute" to a retired quarterback who gave up on the league, but it's demeening to the team as a whole. Just because your "snake" got benched doesn't mean you have to put down the entire team, including the coach who won two Super Bowls, does it? Are you some Arizona fan who suddenly became a fan of Denver when Plummer was traded? If so, go back to Arizona. Denver, the team, and the real fans don't need you. And one more thing, get a life. The guy's been gone all season. He isn't coming back. Maybe you should go stalk him up in Idaho and grow mountain man beards together to pass the time.
P.S. Jay Cutler could kick your ass. I'd like to see you meet him in the parking lot after a game. But how would you be at the game? You're off in an Arizona basement with Jake Plummer's college days on your wall. Good luck with that.
Couldn't say it any better my self.
PLUMMER SUCKS!!!
HAHHAHAH, Ok your comment about us being in a basement with Jake's Arizona days on the wall was HILARIOUS! That was one of the funniest and most creative comments ever posted here. Usually everyone just comes on and calls us GAY or Raider fans. So kudos to you buddy!
But your whole post shows your new to this whole thing and I don't have the time to give you the LPP and Fire Shanahan story, so I advise you browse the links and do some reading.
Your comment about Jay Cutler and me in the parking lot was funny too! I'd love to meet him in the parking lot, but I wouldn't fight him...I heard he could bench like 300lbs or something, so he'd surely break my pencil neck, but I would take a picture of him signing a jersey for me and then try and sell it on eBay for a buck or two!
Are you two reacting to LPP deciding to go visit Domonique Foxworth's blog and talk sh*t? I considered that ill-advised as well. I don't condone DIRECTLY questioning the motivation of individual players either, to be honest. To address your other points, well, if you don't like the rest of it, F off.
Are we really demeaning the team as a whole? No, just the elements we believe are dragging down our beloved Broncos. Yes, yes, Shanahan has won two Super Bowls. Wonderful. Fantastic. He deserves a statue out front of Mile High or something, whatever. Our point is, he's not doing his job RIGHT NOW, and by that we mean 1999-2007. See, any time Broncos fans have a game they don't like watching, they get all misty-eyed about 97-98. That's fine and dandy, but you can't let what happened A FULL TEN SEASONS AGO WITH A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT ROSTER AND ASSISTANCE STAFF dictate the slack you give a guy in the NOW.
Normally I personally shy away from shoving Jake Plummer too hard down people's throats. I leave that to LPP because he's better at it. I like to be more objective and honest, and even when I HATE what I'm saying, I believe it to be true. But let's be frank. When the Broncos got to the AFC championship game and failed in 05, then fizzled in 06, there came time for Broncos fans to blame someone for eight years of useless shuffling. They'd risen not to "greatness" but to "very goodness" and now the downward turn was beginning. Well, fans would not blame Shanahan because he's like their DADDY. DADDY CAN DO NO WRONG.
Shanahan is the last major link to better days (Rod Smith is about done,) and the more feeble-minded Denver fans who care more about their image and their past than they do about really giving the team a chance to compete in today's NFL (and it IS a different league...in 97-98, we put together a team that cap rules essentially deemed ILLEGAL, and will never be able to do it again.) So instead of blaming the coach who couldn't put together a D that could stop the Colts from scoring 11 touchdowns in 2 playoff games or field an offensive line that could hold a blitz for more than 0.5 seconds against the Steelers, the fans went after the easy target, the guy who filled the highest profile position in Denver sports history: QB Jake Plummer. Maybe Jake wasn't doing the best job in 06 when he got fired. But his team was 7-4. If Jay Cutler was 7-4 right now the same Denver fans who wanted to tear Jake a new one would be ready to throw Pumpkin Pie a parade.
Well last year the team had a tougher schedule and an essentially equal roster...and it wasn't enough for all of you "DIE HARD BRONCOS LOVERS" last year. So Shanahan made a promise for the future...which we saw as B.S. immediately. Now this year is proving us right and we STILL get ripped!
If Shanahan really needed to develop Cutler, he should have done it slowly and safely! You throw a college QB with huge potential and tools out there with a sh*tty offensive line, average receivers, and a HIGH probability that he'll be playing from behind because of shaky defense, you know what you get???
You get DAVID CARR. You get JOEY HARRINGTON. You get ELI MANNING. You get ALEX SMITH. You get ANDREW WALTER. You get Josh McCown, Cade McNown, Akili Smith, Chad Pennington, Rick Mirer, Dan McGwire...hell, do you know how fortunate we'll be if Shanahan avoids screwing up Cutler's development enough so that he just becomes another Brian Griese?
And don't sputter out an argument, if Cutler had Griese's second & third year numbers for the next two seasons, again, "DIE HARDS," you'd want to throw him a parade.
You want to give us sh*t because we're not funny, or you disagree, or you think we're wrong? Whatever. Free country. Some morons think Dane Cook is funny, 50 Cent is a good rapper, and the SAW movies are classics. (Those people are called retards, mind you.)
Don't tell us to get a life. This is OUR website...YOU'RE the one who took the time to type up something on someone ELSE'S website. If we've offended you sooooo much that your sphincter tightens up and you simply HAVE to type up a response that insults us, and for good measure insults Jake Plummer...who really needs to get a life?
P.S. We're pretty sure Jay Cutler could kick our asses. That's fine. We'd like a quarterback who could kick our asses playing for Denver. WE'D ALSO LIKE HIM TO KICK OAKLAND AND SAN DIEGO'S ASS, BUT APPARENTLY THAT'S TOO MUCH TROUBLE...but that's Shanahan's fault anyway, not Cutler's.
By the way, we're not in an Arizona basement. We're in a Denver condo, and your mother says she likes the decor so much she just might start letting US charge HER.
Real fans are loyal to the TEAM, not to ONE MAN who doesn't represent the team's best interests anymore. It's like all you f***ers who turned on Dan Reeves. What, you think Elway got to the first 3 Super Bowls by himself? You think taking Atlanta--ATLANTA--to a Super Bowl was a f***ing ACCIDENT??? Dan Reeves was just as good a coach as Shanahan if not better. Maybe the fact that Shanahan had like six more All-Pros than Reeves on his roster at any given time had something to do with those Super Bowl wins, not some sort of imagined "genius" that's led the Broncos to SO much 21st Century glory.
Amen brother. Whatever you do, dont let this place fall aprt beacuse of morons like them. I support the ideas that founded this webiste, and I agree they schould fire Mike Shanahan (for the above mentioned reasons) and they should have let plummer play.
