RAIDERS DEVOUR PUMPKIN PIE

Unbelievable. The Raiders. THE RAIDERS. Who can doubt us now? Who can call us WRONG???

Oh, did someone mumble something about Jake Plummer? We love the Snake, but before you brave anonymous posters start calling us out again as simple-minded Jake boosters, let's remember: we've been pointing fingers at Shanahan since BEFORE he benched Jake. This isn't about the second-greatest QB in Broncos history, this is about THE BRONCOS. They STINK.

This team, from rosters to coaches was hand-picked by MIKE SHANAHAN. Don't whip out the "young team" excuse. This is essentially the same team from last year that went 9-7 and missed the playoffs on the last day of the season...oh, wait, we added guys like Bly and Big Baby Daddy who were supposed to IMPROVE us behind a "maturing" Jay Cutler. Well, poor Pumpkin Pie is not going to learn anything from Mike Shanahan except how to blame other people for mistakes. Shanahan has officially entered the downturn of his career and unfortunately, people are still too blinded by his "legendary" reputation to notice that the last nine years of Denver football haven't been "legendary," they've been ADEQUATE...and now it's gone from "adequate" to "pathetic."

We like Pumpkin Pie, but we fear for his development in the chaotic atmosphere Shanahan has created. Before he ruins yet ANOTHER young QB, it's time to put the old horse out to pasture. Mike Shanahan lost his edge a LONG time before refusing to...

LET PLUMMER PLAY!!!

You find one comment where we say "WE DON'T LIKE THE BRONCOS" and we will change the colors to your moms favorite colors.

We don't like MIKE SHANAHAN nor his decision making.

I can say your wrong by claiming to be a Bronocos fan, sounds like you only like to bash when they lose, and say nothing when they win. No matter how many points the offense puts up it wont matter if defense isnt healthy enough to stop the opposing team.

Actually, we've put up comments when they win too. See, we sort of hold our breath lately when they win. If they were able to string together several good weeks in a row, we'd definitely change our tune. But they haven't done it. To be honest, they ALMOST had us fooled when they stomped Tennessee. Now it's obvious that the Titans aren't really that good. Kansas City didn't matter, I personally (not sure what LPP thinks) believe that if KC played Miami right now, Miami would win...that's how bad they are without LJ. But then they blew it against the Bears and now they get slapped around by JOSH MCCLOWN and LITTLE HUGGY BEAR? If the Broncos had pulled out 4 in a row...which was VERY do-able, as even WE admitted, we might have taken a lot of it back. Well, they didn't. They blew two in a row. We won't be taking anything back because WE'RE NOT WRONG. We're not making fun of any fans...we're your spirit brothers. We want the team to be good. Some might say our criticism means we love the team all the more. We see what's hurting the Broncos (poor coaching and poor decision making) and we've been pointing it out all year and then some!

We don't like to bash the Broncos. We DO like to bash Shanahan now, because we think he's taken advantage of the success he had with the 1997-98 teams. He has only kept his job because the city of Denver gets all gooey and sentimental over John Elway winning the big one, as if Shanahan was THE reason it happened. It wasn't. That team could have won with ANY decent coach at the helm...even Dan Reeves, who really gets a bad rap in Denver. THAT'S a guy who could get a team like Denver in 2007 playing over their heads and challenging for playoff positioning. All he had in the 80's was Elway, Mecklenberg, and a prayer, and it got them to 3 Super Bowls.

Shanahan was a pretty good coach who had multiple Hall of Famers on his team. Unless the football gods drop two or three more into his lap over the offseason, he's never going to go any further than he did in 2005...as we've said if "adequate" is good enough for you, enjoy. We'd like to see a little more effort though. So we ramble on...

So... if they fire Shanahan, we'll be back to another rebuilding year, and not be successful for years. Until Shanahan gets fired or retires than I suggest you support your team and support shanny with his decisions, if you don't like what's going on, then hey I heard there's some room on the patriots bandwagon.

True fans support every aspect of their team!

What? By your rationale all Americans should support every decision George Bush makes, good or bad! Bullshit!

As fans, we invest our love, time, and most importantly (to the teams) MONEY into these franchises. These teams cannot exist without fans, therefore the coaches of said teams do not exist without fans. If a coach does something one does not agree with, we don't cover it up with a FALSE COMPLIMENT. You POINT IT OUT! You DEMAND ACCOUNTABILITY.

If your kid starts acting like a snotty brat in public do you give smile and buy him a toy? If your dog shits in the living room, do you pat him on the head and give him a treat? Good boy, good dog? Save that kind of attitude for the mentally handicapped.

We've been trying to rebuild a Super Bowl winner since 1999!!! Should we just keep letting Shanahan keep trying until he gets it right? What if he coaches 30 or 40 years more and Denver never goes to another Super Bowl? Do we pat him on the head and say "good job?" Or do we treat him like EVERY OTHER COACH IN HISTORY and criticize him when he starts slipping?

By your logic it is impossible for Mike Shanahan to ever do a bad job, bmarsh. Don't be so easy on him. We understand the idea that our heroes can do know wrong. We got over it when we became old enough to understand professional contracts and that even the most decorated and celebrated sports heroes are usually just GUYS DOING A JOB.

Anyone who does a job is subject to performance reviews, whether formal or informal.

I agree with you man, watching Denver this year is just painfull. Personally, I think travis Henry should be traded in the offseason while we can still get something for him. He hasnt done a damn thing, in my eyes, to earn his paycheck.

People use the amount of injuries we have as an excuse. But I think the sign of a great coach is winning with what you have, not what you schould have.
